In India religion has
been a very important aspect of people’s life.
Everyone has their own way of worship. No one ever has seen their god
but they believe that he is always close to them whenever they need him. There is a religion in
India which is followed by almost every citizen of this country. There have
been no riots and fights happen because of this religion. You don’t have to go
to temple, mosque, gurudwara and church to worship the GOD of this religion. The
most important thing about this religion is that you can witness the GOD of
this religion; you can meet him, talk to him, hear to him, touch him and even
click a photo with him.
The religion is named
as “CRICKET” and “SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR” is the GOD of this religion. Cricket was started way
back in 16th and 17th century in England. The birthplace
of this game was England. But, the GOD of this game took birth in India. He
knew that this country had lot of passion and eagerness for this game.
Sachin Tendulkar was
born on 24 April 1973 at Bombay (now Mumbai). From his childhood he had lot of
interest in sports. He wants to be a Tennis player in future and he was a big
fan if John McEnroe (a famous tennis player from). He also had his hairstyle like
him. But, his elder brother had something else in mind for Sachin. He wanted
him to be a cricketer. So he put him under the coaching of Ramakaant Achrekar. Ramakaant
Achrekar was the first person who identified the talent in Sachin. From the
first day when he had meet Sachin, he knew that he would be India’s greatest
player.
When Tendulkar started
playing cricket he wanted to become a fast bowler. He also went to MRF Pace
Foundation for that but, he was rejected from there. On 24 November 1989
first time Sachin made his debut in International Cricket on the tour of
Pakistan. At that time he was just 16 years old and he had to face one of the
fastest bowling attacks of that time, which had Imran Khan, Waseem Akram, and
Waqar Younis.
In the fourth test on
that tour Sachin tried to pull a fast bouncer from Waqar, the ball hits the
inside edge and trampled into the nose of Sachin. He went down and lot of blood
was coming from his nose. It was a heavy blow and everyone thought that this would
be a serious injury. Sachin proved everyone wrong he stand and ready to play.
Next ball from Waqar was fast in swinging Yorker and hit went to the boundary
rope with the double speed it came. Sachin hit straight drive on that ball.
We all know about the record of Sachin Tendulkar. Almost every record of batting belongs to him. He not only game this record to India. But, he gave a hope, a motivation to fight and a passion to chase your dream. There is lot of youngsters who wanted to be like Sachin. Lot of them was now playing in the Indian Team. Kohli, Yuvraj, Rahane, Pujara and Dhoni all started playing cricket because of Sachin. There were days when everyone switched off their TV sets when Sachin gets out, people in the ground leave the ground on his dismissal.
Today he turned 40. His
body would not support him like it did when he was 25.but, his enthusiasm,
passion and love towards this game was still the same as it would be 20 years
ago. People in India called
him GOD OF CRICKET. He served this game as GOD. Always ready to help and
support this game. He retired from ODI and time came when he will retire from
Test Matches. All of them, who saw him batting on TV or Ground, would consider
themselves lucky.
