“Try not to become a man of success,
but rather try to become a man of value”. This beautiful saying is very
well adopted by the team of IIT Kanpur who have organized ’28 States- Awakening
of the golden bird’ in “TechKriti”- The Annual and Technical Entrepreneurship
festival with a motive of spreading curiosity in youth and provoking them to
bring the change by introducing competitions regarding some social issues which
are need to be discussed and worked upon. The techKriti invites 522 colleges of
28 states to come up the problems being faced by them in their state. Also,
participants should come up with the holistic view of the problems of other
states as well. This will be judged by some eminent personalities. The motive
behind is to gather all the problems of each state in our country and resolve
them in our own manner. This will publicize every problem of the states and
people from all over the country will get to know about it through RAFTAARLIVE.
The final round to be held on 15 and 16 march 2013,judged by personalities like
AseemTrivedi(activist and cartoonist), Alok Dixit(journalist turned social
activist), Ashish Gupta(IPS Officer) andArunSantosh(Director, Governance lab at
Swaniti Initiative) will bring the participants with the best attempt.
The evaluation process consist the first round-that was
judged on the basis of social awareness of the participants, the second round
was to bring out the deep concern of the participants raising their voice
against it and the third round will be a telephonic conversation to judge their
interpersonal skills. The final round will invite the participants to the 28
States platform in TeckKriti in IIT Kanpur. Final round will be analyzed on the
basis of the concern and the solutions of the problem with the aim of bringing
a change through their voices.
The participants will get the exposure to put their point of
view in front of the public and media plus the internship opportunities with
the cash prize of 20,000/- and also, they will be able to put a step forward to
bring a change through the solutions given by them. There is no criterion of
the language. Participants can use both Hindi/English to express their views.
This is just an initiative to bring a change in the society.
28 states give you the freedom of speech and expression to bring you ahead and
do something for the problems of your own state. If not the biggest change, you
can at least reduce the problems by creating a curiosity and awareness amongst
the people of your state. You can bring one and all together and then can do
the change. Instead of just saying “nothing can be done by the concerned
authorities”, you can unite the people through your ideas and solution and can surely
bring a change. Nothing can stop you in feeling good, but just try once at the
initiative taken by IIT Kanpur TechKriti to the trial
of resolving the problems of “common man.”
