"TECHKRITI'15 reaches out to School Students"

Techkriti is the annual technical and entrepreneurial festival of Indian Institute of Technology 
Kanpur. Since its inception in 1995, it has been developing interest and encouraging innovation 
among students of IIT Kanpur as well as hundreds of colleges from all over the country. 
This year for the first time Techkriti’15 has introduced an event involving the school students, the 
Techkriti Open School Championship. It is an annual school aptitude examination for classes 9th 
to 12th. It consists of prelims and mains. Prelims is a written exam based on which 50 students 
are selected for the final round held at IIT Kanpur during Techkriti in which prizes are given to 
the top three students of each pool.
TOSC includes the participations from two pools
Pool A: Classes 11th and 12th
Pool B: Classes 9th and 10th
The first round of TOSC took place on 21st Dec and 25th Dec, 2014 in Kanpur and Lucknow
respectively across 13 different centers which included

  • Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre (Kanpur)
  • Karam Devi Memorial Academy (Kanpur)
  • Dr. Virendra Swaroop Education Center, Kidwai Nagar (Kanpur)
  • Dr. Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Shyam Nagar (Kanpur)
  • Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Kanpur (Kanpur)
  • CMS Rajajipuram (Lucknow)
  • CMS Aliganj (Lucknow)
  • CMS Chowk (Lucknow)
  • CMS RDSO (Lucknow)
  • CMS Mahanagar 2 (Lucknow)
  • DPS Indranagar (Lucknow)


The event was a huge success which saw a huge participation of around 4500 students in its first edition itself. The main motive of TOSC was to develop the skill of logical reasoning and aptitude among the young minds.
The results of the exams are out for Kanpur region on its official website www.techkriti.org/tosc while the results for Lucknow regions would be declared soon. The updates of TOSC are available on www.facebook.com/tosc.iitk. The phase II of TOSC will be organized in the month of January’25 for the top 500 students. The certificates will be provided to all the participants in this championship. The top 50 students after qualifying phase II will be given the opportunity to visit IIT Kanpur during Techkriti’15 (from 19th -22nd March’15) and these students will be given the platform to learn through various workshops in the fields of aeromodelling, robotics and  electronics.

We hope to strengthen and cultivate the talent of our nation at the grassroots level and this is our sole motive for the TOSC.
